The Secret

This is two strands of each , blue and gray Patons Classic Wool, of medium weight.  I used Noni pattern #114. The small one.

Well the felting is done, now all I need to do is get it lined.  A fairly easy process, but the time to do it is the trick.

Shhhhh, it's a secret

I
've almost finished a project that I said I'd do for a dear young lady.  With life being the way that it is, stuff happens daily and you don't finish things that you really want to.

Now I've only to felt and line it and it'll be here for all to see.  I'm chomping at the bit to finish.

My recent projects

This is a project I started while I was in Tn. helping my step-Mom.  More accurately, I started on it in my head and didn't get to actually start on it until I'd been home for a while.

It's a really big Granny Square without the "gaps" and it's a rectangle, not a square. I did a few "swatches" while in Tn. trying to make rectangles because squares have to be really big to actually cover you up if you are an adult and our beds are rectangles not squares. I don't like how the gaps catch little fingers and toes, not to mention my own.  :P

Here is a close up of the detail.  I love these things because you can use a lot of the yarns that you don't have enough of  to finish any one project.

Because of the many colors, you can put them in quite a few different rooms with completely different color schemes and they still work, better in some than others.

Four Wheeler Modifications

As promised, the afore mentioned  modification is quite obvious when compared to the previous picture.

You can also see how much smaller mine is.  hehehe.

Four Wheeler Snorkle

In this picture the snorkel is still black (forward left).    As of Friday, the 15th, the snorkel was redone and painted red.  The whole thing really looks great!  Robert did a very nice job.

We went four wheeling on Friday after I discovered I wasn't baby sitting after all.  The young and crazy crowd hadn't invaded the area yet, so we had a lot of fun. They were on their way in as we were leaving.

This was taken on my first ride and I had a scarf on my head to keep the dust off of me. I kept losing hats.  As it turns out I don't lose them any more.  The problem was they were bumping into Robert's shoulder or back :P

Since I'm not riding behind him any more, I am able to keep them on.  The real trick now is to get the ones that are small enough to stay on.  It seems that I have a "child" size head.  I need to buy them in the children's dept. or get the ones with Velcro.

I wear long sleeves and gloves now to keep the mud from staining my nails and skin, it also happily conforms pretty closely to the Islamic dress code.  Everybody is happy.  Robert thinks it's strange to wear long sleeves in the heat so I just tell him that they protect my arms from being scraped :-D  I also tried wearing a pair of lace up boots that I have, but had to revert to my good 'ol western boots because the first time the mud got into my shoes and my toenails and skin were discolored, who would have thought!!!!

Anyway, I'll put a better pic up shortly to display the "pretty" work Robert did to my four wheeler.  For those of you who have no clue why a person would need a snorkel on their four wheeler, myself included, they allow the bike to continue to "breath" while primarily submerged in MUCKY/MUDDY water.

It is really a lot of fun.  You'll discover an aspect of yourself you may not have know exsisted. For example, in myself, I discovered a very competitive person that I wasn't aware of, but not to the point of stupidity.  Keeping up with my husband can be a challenge, but I have a (very) slight advantage, my bike is smaller.  :-P  I fit between trees that slow him down and that enables me to catch up.  lol.

Thank fully I am an observant rider too.  I learned while riding with my husband that down shifting is a wonderful thing, and saves on brakes, AND is much faster than using the brakes! Don't get carried away and down shift too low, it will have the same effect as if you down shifted in a car to a too low gear, ya follow?

Anyway, enough carring on for today.  My sewing machines are down until Monday, when I get to pick them up from repair.  I only have the serger, and I'm not accomplished enough to get a lot of things done with it yet, so I get to do fun stuff like this today.  Not that sewing isn't fun, to me!

What a Month!!

My Anniversary Gift!!

The anniversary isn't until July, our fifteenth, but the opportunity and the money happened at the same time, so there she is.

Made in 1997, a Yamaha, TimberWolf, 250. Look how bright the red still is. It's amazing. Robert had to order a few odd parts so I should be able to ride this coming weekend.

They came in today and he installed them right away and, of course test drove it while I was caring for this little doll. Maybe I'll get to go for a ride tomorrow.

It's been sitting in the pole barn right out back, but thanks to my daughter, I've been blissfully distracted with her two youngest.

The one on the four wheeler is Nicholas, he's 2 yrs. old and the "babe in arms" is Tiylor Jacob or TJ as they're calling him.

I'm so blessed, they are both great kids. Nicholi, as we often call him, is learning to speak pretty fast. My understanding is that he's been exposed to "baby talk" until now. This child is advancing by leaps and bounds. It's fun to watch.

Little TJ is just the biggest flirt. He'll be pigging out and when nearly done, after burping, he'll give you this little smile and then laugh outright. Such a joy. He'll be three months old on the 5th of May. This little man definitely has opinions too. LOL

They both have very good appetites. That is a good sign that they'll, hopefully, not be picky eaters. Yes, I'm crossing my fingers. :-D

My visit to Tn 2009

Well, it has been an interesting time here in Hendersonville, Tn. This time around we got to see snow. We, being, Roddy, my dog and I.

I didn't fall the first step I took out of the door this time either, because I'd already found the "de-icing" stuff behind the side door, so I took care of that right away :-D

Mom doesn't look real great to most observers, but to us she looks a lot better that she has in a long while. She's up and dressed and doing house work and everything. Not overdoing it, but just getting things done little by little.

I hope, iA, to be going home on the first of April. I am greatly looking forward to doing so because I plan to go home by way of NC, so that I can visit my Son and his Lady and get to see my grandson Jude, that I have not actually laid eyes on yet. He's five months old already.

Now I know how my Mother felt when I was all over the world with Jacques and Erica. She missed so much of Jacques' growing up because we lived in NM, TN, and then Germany.

My space wasn't up and running then, but she wasn't real computer sauvy anyway. Instant messaging would have been much less expensive than calling from Germany at $60 for an hour of conversation. LOL

Here are some pics of Roddy enjoying the snow and our "room" at the house.
